Eric Dewayne Jones, 52, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020, in a local hospital.  

He was a 1986 graduate of Howard High School.  He was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. 

Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Betty Jones; brother, David Garth, Jr.; several uncles and aunts. 

Survivors include his daughters, Erica Jones and Shateria Jones; grandchildren, Ri’Khi Edmonds, Bali’ Jones, and Cruz’ Jones-Shepherd, all of Chattanooga; brothers, Kenneth Jones, Roderick Jones, both of Chattanooga, Demetrius (Desiree) Jones, and Anthony Jones, both of Knoxville; sisters, Regina Garth-Henderson, Sharon Patterson, Vickie Jones, Tammy Wood, all of Chattanooga, Wanda Roach of Atlanta, GA, and Denise Holder of Virginia; sister-in-law, Barbara Williams; mother of daughters, Shirley Williams; godmother, Georgia Ann Hooks-Tucker; best friends, Reuben Simpson, Derris “Shay” Strickland, Charles “Tre” Edwards, and Woodie Starling; a host of other relatives and special friends. 

He will lie in state on Friday, Sept. 18, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

A family service will be on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Steve Underwood as the eulogist. 

Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
