Kathryn B. “Katie” McGee, 93, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. 

She was born in Athens, Tn., and was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College. Katie owned and operated McGee Advertising for over 60 years. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Katie had played the piano all over the world at Air Force Bases where she met and became friends with Neal Armstrong and Ginger Rogers. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. “Bill” McGee and a granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth McGee.

Katie is survived by her two sons, William F. “Bill” McGee, Jr. and Kenneth G. McGee; grandchildren, Mary Kathryn McGee Taylor, Kelli Anne McGee, Rebekka McGee Gayton (Ricky), and Angel McGee; great grandchildren, Austin Faulkner, Kane Jones, Ben Bishop, Jackson Bishop, Koby McGee, Harper Taylor, and Kaleb Gayton; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service for Katie will follow at noon on Tuesday at the North Chapel with Reverend Drew McCallie officiating.  Burial will be in National Cemetery with her great grandsons, Austin, Benjamin, Jackson, Koby, Kane, and Ricky serving as pallbearers. 

A special thank you to the staff at Hospice of Chattanooga, especially George, Rebecca, and Faedra. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rivermont Exceptional Education Program, at Rivermont Elementary school, 3300 Hixson Pike, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415.   

We respectfully request that "social distancing", wearing masks at all times, and all CDC measures be adhered to at the funeral home and cemetery.
