A Young Women’s Self-Defense Class will be held at Collegedale City Hall on Sunday, Oct. 11 from 1-5 p.m. Ms. Tammy Zirk, co-owner of Zirkops Training, will be teaching her JR XD360 program.

Ms. Zirk is the co-founder and instructor for Xtreme Divas 360 Women’s Self-Defense, a program that addresses the physical protection needs of women. The JR XD360 program is a situational awareness and self-defense class for young women ages 15-18.

Collegedale Parks and Recreation Foundation, Inc. is sponsoring the program at no cost to the participants.

"The class will enable girls at any level of wellness to protect themselves and avoid or escape situations that can lead to a hostile confrontation," organizers said.

Sign-up remains open with a limited number of available spaces for registrants.  For more information, call 423-468-1971, email parksandrec@collegedaletn.gov or go to the website at collegedaleparksandrec.com.
