Chattanooga FC Advances To NISA Fall Championship Semifinals

  • Tuesday, September 29, 2020

In its first full season with NISA, Chattanooga Football Club has advanced to the semi-final stage of the NISA Fall Championship Tournament. CFC finished the group stage of the tournament with a total of five points (one win, two draws) which landed the blues in the second place of Group B, behind LA Force, who amassed six points (two wins, one loss, to Chattanooga FC).

“It makes me happy, but not satisfied” said Peter Fuller, Head Coach, Chattanooga FC.

“...Now that we’ve qualified for the semi finals, I hope that we feel a little bit freer and a little bit more ourselves to go out and play.”

Chattanooga FC will face the Group A winner, Oakland Roots, Wednesday, September 30th at 5:00pm. The game will be carried live on beIN Sports. The winner of tomorrow’s game will earn a spot in the finals, which will be played Friday, October 2nd, at 6:00pm. CFC played Oakland in California earlier this year, before the pandemic struck. The match ended in a 1-1 draw with CFC leading much of the match. Oakland earned a point in the game thanks to some last minute heroics from Roots forward Jack McInerney. After the CFC match Wednesday, LA Force and Detroit City FC will square off to determine which team will face the winner of CFC/Oakland in the finals.
