Yes, Impeach Trump

  • Monday, January 11, 2021

Roy Exum asks, “Why impeach Trump?” and the answer is simple.  To prevent any future president from thinking that they could do the same thing without consequence.  We must send a clear message that this cannot and will not happen again. Trump has spent his entire presidency putting his personal interests above the country’s, and above the law. The insurrection he incited was apparently just the breaking point for so many who, up until then, ignored his megalomania and narcissism because it suited their own political interests.

Roy Exum further states, “This is most assuredly not the same man who I, and over 74 million others, had hoped would become reelected.”  No, this is exactly the same man.  We have been telling you that for years.

This is who he is, who he has always been, and it is disingenuous to act surprised when you are finally forced to take your blinders off.

If Congress can confirm a Supreme Court Justice in a week during a pandemic, they could certainly impeach and remove Trump in nine days if they truly wanted to.  I, for one, am having a difficult time sleeping thinking about this man having access to our country’s nuclear arsenal in the midst of his inciting treason.

So no, impeaching him (again) would not happen just to “embarrass Trump.” That’s one thing he does all on his own.
