Marty Ray Green, age 53, of Smith Rail Road, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021, in a Rome hospital, following an illness.
Marty was born May 23, 1968, in Rome, Ga., to the late Ray and Terresa Diane Shipp Green. He was Baptist by faith, was self-employed in the construction industry, and in addition to his parents was preceded in death by his brother, Joey Green on June 15, 1998.
Surviving are wife, Cheryl Green; daughter, Marti Katherine Green; stepchildren, Heath and Savannah McGuire, Erica McGuire and Brandon Fountain; and five step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 23, at 3 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Pace and Marti Katherine Green officiating, interment in Perennial Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Josh Green, Chad Green, Charlie Bullard, Chip Cook, Tufton Blanks, and Chris Blanks.
The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from 1-3 p.m.
