Charles Wilson, Jr.

Charles Wilson, Jr., 94, left this world to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at his residence.

He was a member of the Church of God on Dalton Pike in Cleveland, Tn. for over 30 years where he started a food bank for the community. He drove to Chattanooga for years to pick up food to distribute to those that needed it. This was very fulfilling to him and he would always ask if they knew Jesus as their Lord. He wrote and published many gospel tracks to reach the lost. His heart was in bringing others to Jesus.

He was employed at Hardwick Stove, now Maytag for many years. When he left there he started the first in Cleveland Vinyl Top Business and Pin Striping on cars from local dealers. When he retired he enjoyed working at his shop at home cleaning up old cars, taking pride in making them look new again, selling them to those that would stop by and always ended up asking if they knew Jesus.

He served in the U.S. Navy in CA right before World War II ended.

He was preceded in death by son, Ronald David Wilson

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Henrietta Wilson; daughters, Tonya Allen of Cleveland, and Kaye Westwood of Hollister, CA; grandchildren, Tasha Turner, David Wilson, Jayson Wilson, Elizabeth Westwood; and great-grandchildren, Aaron Fisher, Caleb Peterson, Brandon Wilson, Ethan Wilson and Hurley Wilson.

The family would like to express special thanks to Charles Watson, Billie McCracken, cousin, Dan Wilson, and Adoration (Hospice) for their unconditional support and care.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, Nov. 29, at 2:30 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. David Kramer officiating. Interment will follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Aaron Fisher, Caleb Peterson, Jason Wilson, Larry Wilson, Jeff Wilson, and Steve Wilson serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony, the playing of bagpipes, and military honors will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His Commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

For God shall bring every work into judgment with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (Song of Solomon 11:13,14)

We invite you to send a message of condolence and view the Wilson family guestbook at www.ralphbuckner.com.
