Sarah Catherine Ingle, 88, longtime resident of Ooltewah, Tennessee, and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend went home to be in the presence of the Lord on Tuesday April 27, 2021. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James T. Ingle, her parents, Sulia Huckaby Chandler and Archie Chandler, her brother, Doss (Buddy) Chandler and sister, Viola Chandler Baxter.

She is survived by her sisters, Lila Chandler Breedlove, and Mildred Chandler MaKay.

Catherine grew up in Saint Elmo but moved to Ooltewah in the early 40s, with her family.  She raised her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren on the family farm. She liked nothing better than to have her family gathered together.

She and James were volunteers at Collegedale Life Care Center for many years and shared their music ministry with the residents. Catherine was always a good neighbor and visited the sick and lonely. She was a member of Calvary Life Fellowship in Ooltewah.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Donna (John) Ingle Morse, Jimmy (Judy) Ingle, Eddie (Kathy) Ingle, Donald (Betty) Ingle, grandchildren, Michelle Ingle, Wendy Ingle Summey, Faith Ingle Daly, Wade Nabors, Brandon Nabors, Derek Morse, Dylan Morse, Melanie Ingle Myers, Amy Ingle Stewart, Laura Ingle Hyatt, Wil Ingle, Russell Reeves, Frank Ingle and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Eddie and Kathy for their dedication to our mother during her fight with Alzheimer`s. They were truly a living example of love.  The family would also like to thank the Amedisys Hospice group and their great staff for all their help and support during this difficult time.  In addition, we want to express our thanks to her caregiver, Stacey Gotshall, for her compassion, reliability & friendship over the past several months.

A private family graveside service will be held at Lakewood East Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist.  7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
