Tuesday, April 6, 2021
The Chattanooga Mocs shot 312 over the final 18 holes finishing eighth at the Brickyard Collegiate Tuesday. The Mocs 929 total over 54 holes was three behind Florida Gulf Coast in seventh and two in front of Florida Atlantic in ninth at Brickyard Golf Club.

Dorota Zalewska had one of the tied for the third-best round of the day with 1-under 71. It was one of just 10 under par rounds in 243 cards for the 54 holes as the Brickyard was quite averse to scoring this week. The Mocs managed just 15 birdies for the event with four coming via Zalewska today.

Esme Hamilton added 77 to today’s 312.
Beatriz Barrios turned in 80 with the duo Daphne van Son and Jefimija Dordevic each tallying 84s. The 71 propelled Zalewska up the leaderboard after starting the morning tied for 26th.

The sophomore from Poland completed the 54 holes at 10-over 226 moving into a tie for 10th. It’s her second top 10 this season. Hamilton joined her in the top 20 tying for 18th with 229. Barrios and van Son had matching 238s, while Dordevic managed 254.

UCF ran away with the team win shooting 892. That was 18 better than host Mercer in second. Florida Atlantic’s Justine Fournand tied the Bears Lauren Lightfritz for medalist honors at level-par 216.

For the first time in more than a month, the Mocs get a week off before starting postseason play. Next up is the Southern Conference Championships played on Kiawah Island this year. Pairings and live scoring, when available, are available on the women’s golf schedule page on GoMocs.com.
