Jimmie David Moorer, age 71, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021.
He was born on June 7, 1949 to his late parents, Jimmie David and Edna Harrison Moorer, Sr.
He was a member of New Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He was known to be a very intellectual man who enjoyed using his brain to practice puzzles and engage in history. He loved spending time with his family and will be truly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents and former wife, Pearly Mae Moorer.
Survivors are her loving family, daughter, Tara Bryant; granddaughter, Ashley Macon; sisters, Betty (Reginald) Roy, Jacquline Daniels, Marlena Moorer, and Beverly Glover; brother, James (Mary) Moorer; aunts, Barbara Davis, Laura Harrison, and Betty N. Harrison; uncle, Raymond Harrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Following the guidelines of COVID-19, the family is enforcing that all attendees wear a mask and practice social distancing.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 17, at 1 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church 3777 Wilcox Blvd, Chattanooga, TN 37411.
Family will receive friends Saturday, April 17, from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Interment will be at Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery.
