Mary "Frances" Dye, 85, a long time resident of Cleveland, passed away in her home May 26,
2021. She was born July 7, 1935 to Harley Morrison and Lula Morrison.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Harley and Lula Morrison; her sister, Ruby Denton; and one son-in-law, Charles Shook, Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Earl William; and five daughters and two sons, Judy (Terry) Greene, June (Lynn) Wagner, Joan Shook, Janice (Buck) Dispaine, Jane Cloer, Harold(Cindy) Dye and Jason (Laura) Dye. She also raised her granddaughter, Destiny Dye, like a daughter. She is also survived by her two brothers and two sisters, Ned Morrision, Clarence (Kay) Morrison, Carrie Everett and Gee (Joe) Daniels; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Frances was a graduate of Charleston High School. She retired from Jackson's manufacturing after 25 years. She was a member of Eisenhower Baptist Church for many years. Frances was active with both the boys and girls scouts. Before Frances retired, she was very active with Cleveland High school concession stands for many years. After retirement, Frances spent several years volunteering at Blythe-Bower Elementary school. She was also active with Blythe Oldfield Community Association garden for several years. She loved to garden.
She was known to the neighborhood as "Mama Dye." She always had an open door and a plate of food for anyone that was in need. She was loved by all that knew her and will be missed by all.
The service is going to be held at Living by Faith ministries at 1175 King Edward Ave., Cleveland, Tn. 37311, on May 30. Viewing is from 1-3 p.m., with the service following immediately after. Pastor Shane Dye will be officiating. Pallbearers are Dwight Dye, James Dispaine, Justin Greene, Jeremy Greene, Stacy Greene, Charles Shook, III, Jeffery Shook and Bruce Smith.
Frances will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery.
