Wilson, Della Mae (Cleveland)

Della Mae Wilson, 78, of Cleveland, passed away on June 14, 2021. She was born on June 10, 1943 to the late B.W. and Maybelle Curtis. Della enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a loving and protective mother who was well loved by all. She was a loving and faithful follower of Jehovah. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandbaby.

In addition to her mother and father, Della is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Wilson; her siblings, Kenny Curtis, Edna Pritchard, James Curtis, Cecil Harris, Bobby Curtis and Sandra Curtis; and grandchildren, Tanda Harris Laye, Gary Wilson, Jr. and Thomas Antonio Wilson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Gary Eugene Wilson (Quotonia), Loretta Starnes (Michael), Jo Ann Wilson, Darlene Henderson (Elliott-dec.), Marcell Tate (Bobby – dec.), Cornell Wilson (Teresa) and Jamison Wilson (Carrie); and siblings, Nesby Harris, John Curtis, Carol Smith, Margaret Howell, Shirley Farmer and Helen Curtis. She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Della’s life will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday June 19 in the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home. The family requests that masks are worn and social distancing practiced. Her family will receive friends prior to the service from 3-5 p.m. She will be laid to rest following her service at Fort Hill Cemetery.
