James “Ken” Woodby, 61, of Ft. Myers, Fl., passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021. A native of Chicago, he grew up in Chattanooga and was a graduate of Tyner High School. He was also a member of the Estero Baptist Church.
He was retired from the automotive industry, having served as financial director. He received many awards such as Ford’s 300/500 Masters Award and Satisfying Customer Needs. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, attending church, being on a golf course and watching his grandsons play. He was also a big fan of the Tennessee Vols and the Atlanta Braves
and was a professional wrestler from 1979-1991.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Woodby, Sr.; mother, Gloria Woodby; son, Jacob Woodby; and several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Ann Woodby; daughter, Jessica Woodby-Denema (Peter Denema); grandsons, Job Kyle Woodby and Evan Dawes; brothers, David Woodby (Karla) and Don Woodby (Lynn); sister, Pat Southern (David); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Valley View Chapel, with Pastor Chad Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday
at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
