Lucille Heathington-Wilson
Lottie Lucille Heathington-Wilson was the ninth child born to the late Walter V. Heathington and Lucille Heathington in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on May 10, 1937.
Lottie was educated in the Chattanooga Public School System where she was a proud alumnus of the Howard High School Tigers.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her big sister Juliette Gilbert and her baby sister, Euradell Heathington.
As a mother, she leaves a blessed lineage of 10 children: Lebron Dexter Johnson, Coleman Lamar Johnson, Norma Yvette Chism, James Broderick Johnson, Romitchus Renee Alexander (Tism), John Fitzgerald Heathington (Denise), Elizabeth Marie Malone, Demetrius Lynn Wiley (Orlando), Marc Leslie Smith (Tish) and Eura Dell Pierre (Sylvester).
About 20 years ago, Lottie was affectionately called “Big Granny” by her great grand-baby, Kishon. From that day forward, she became “Big Granny” to all of her lineage and legacies. Big Granny leaves 33 grand-children, 32 great-grand-children, eight great-great-grand-children, a host of nieces and nephews and her best friends for life, Leola Richardson (“Ms. Honey Pete”) and Dottie Jones.
Ms. Wilson lies in the care of John P. Franklin Funeral Home. Seating for her services is limited to 150 people. Masks are required. However, the services will be live streamed.
Public viewing will be held from 2–6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19, at the funeral home. A funeral service will begin at noon on Friday, Aug. 20, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
