Construction is now complete on three new wooden stained Crosses in the “Old Rugged Cross section” of Hamilton Memorial Gardens on Highway 153 in Hixson.

Vice President Stephen Pike said it took nearly six months to complete replacement.

A set of the Crosses was first erected in 1979.  This is the third time they have been replaced because of exposure to severe weather.

Mr. Pike said the “Old Rugged Cross” section of the cemetery has a lot of visitors each month and he hopes to use this section of the cemetery for Easter Sunrise services.

Hamilton Memorial Gardens opened in 1954 and is located next to Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel.
