Memorial Vs. BCBST

  • Wednesday, August 4, 2021

I am a long time Memorial patient, as is my wife. Both us of us have also been very pleased with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee’s services over the past few years.

Memorial had a similar impasse with Cigna a few years ago when we had insurance through my wife’s job. Unfortunately, the issues weren’t resolved until the end of the first week of November, which was also the deadline to choose insurance for the coming year. We had no desire to guess wrong, so we dumped Cigna for another provider, though we learned that an agreement had been reached after we turned in our choice for the coming year.

It can be challenging to find the right hospital system and doctors, just as it can be to find quality insurance. But when the insurance company waits too long to settle, we will stick with the proven services of the Memorial Health Care System.

Be aware that the final dates to choose Medicare Supplement Insurance and regular health insurance are approaching. Hopefully, the folks as BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee won’t make the same mistake as Cigna.
