Leotis Harris

Leotis Harris, Sr., 78, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, in a local hospital.  

He was a member of St. Phillip Lutheran Church for 60 years. He retired from U.S. Pipe Foundry after over 40 years of service and was a member of the United Steel Workers.

Leotis was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Louise Harris; sons, Leotis Harris, Jr. and Corey Harris; and grandson, Xavier Harris.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Linda Mae Harris; son, Kendrick J. Harris; daughters, Reatha (Eric) Hayes and Margaret (Michael) Hill, all of Chattanooga; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, twin Cleotis Harris, Eddie (Deborah) Harris, both of Catherine, AL, and Willie James Harris of Mobile, AL; sisters, Lottie Bossie of Tupelo, MS and Mary (Sandy) Anderson of Birmingham, AL; a host of aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Leotis will lie in state on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. at St. Phillip Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will follow at noon with Pastor Joe Jacks officiating. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
