UT's Pride Of Southland Band Gives Free Concert On Thursday

The University of Tennessee "Pride of the Southland Band' entertained fans on Thursday at AT&T Field in a free concert. They are on their way to Baton Rouge, La. to face the LSU tigers at noon on Saturday.  The award winning band opened with the "National Anthem".  The 340-member band played many selections from their half time shows given at Neyland in Knoxville. 

Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp gave the welcome.
Mr. Wamp is a 2009 UT 
graduate. 

Other selections included the Tennessee Waltz, Rocky Top, Down the field and UT Alma Mater. UT Majorettes also performed. This year's drum major is Julia Boylan. WRCB TV's Greg Glover, a former UT Drum Major, served as the master of ceremonies. Retired city court Judge Russell, a 1967 UT law school graduate, was also in attendance. 

The University of Alabama "Million Dollar Band" will give a free concert on Friday, Oct. 14, at noon at Finley Stadium on their way to Knoxville to play the Vols the next day.
