"Dr. Halsey has always been an avid supporter for our department and Lee University,” said Dr. Paul DeLaLuz, chair of the Department of Natural Sciences. “Jordan embodies the fulfillment of God’s calling on her life, who gave her the desire, drive, and ability to serve others.”
Dr. Halsey is currently employed in a joint appointment as an assistant professor of plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and the University of South Florida College of Medicine. She is extensively published, focusing on trauma reconstruction involving facial fractures and other craniomaxillary conditions for pediatric patients.
Dr. Halsey graduated from Lee in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and was also the departmental award winner that year. After graduation, she began medical school at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Memphis, where she completed her program in the top 10% of the class with high honors. She then continued to complete two postdoctoral residencies in Integrated Plastic Surgery and Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, respectively.
“We are proud of Jordan’s achievements, which allow her to share her compassion and skill to be the hands of Christ in healing those in need,” said Dr. DeLaLuz.
