Taylor Wright Caldwell, 71, son of Robert and Mae, died on December 20, 2022 from cancer. A native Chattanoogan, he had last lived in Anchorage, Alaska.

Taylor embraced rebellion at a young age. Before graduating from Chattanooga High School he had attended five schools in three different states.

A lifelong musician (and occasional roadie and housepainter) he started making wonderful music with the local band Humor. With the Southern Cross Band he played the Jersey Shore and up and down Long Island. He toured with Billy Joe Royal, played the Grand Ole Opry and Sturgis, South Dakota. He joined former members of the Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker Band, Sanford Townsend Band and Wet Willie to form the Renegades of Southern Rock and toured with them. Later he played at the Station House and the Chattanooga Choo Choo before returning to Alaska. His latest work was with the TGZ Band of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

He is survived by his daughter, Aimee Nelson of King George, Va.; a son, Rob Bentti of Anchorage, Alaska; and his sister Kerwin Hetzler (David) of Chattanooga.

A wake will be held at the home of his sister, 841 Vine Street, from 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27.
