The business was approved for a license to sell beer after telling the beer board that IDs are checked 100 percent of the time, all servers are required to have professional training in alcohol sales and that their servers’ cards are kept in the possession of the restaurant. Security is by six salaried managers who have extensive training and who do not hesitate to call police to intervene when it is needed.
Quick-Stop, a convenience store at 1302 N. Holtzclaw Ave., was also given a beer permit. This business is owned by Irfan Joseph who has five other stores in Chattanooga that he said he has operated without any violations. His employees will be professionally trained within six weeks of receiving the beer license.
