Miller & Martin welcomes attorney Paul Weidlich to the firm’s Chattanooga office as a member of its Intellectual Property Practice Group.

With a focus on complex issues relating to intellectual property, Mr. Weidlich’s practice includes patents and trademarks portfolio development, preparation, and prosecution; trade secrets, copyrights, licensing agreements; media, advertising and promotional law and intellectual property litigation. He works with clients in several industries, such as construction equipment, plants, and control systems for asphalt road building, aggregate processing and concrete production, food manufacturing, medical devices, software development, financial services, textile manufacturing, and flooring, to name a few.

“I decided to join Miller & Martin for a number of reasons including their more robust platform with a deep bench in intellectual property, their geographical reach with offices in different cities and the breadth of practice areas," said Mr. Weidlich. "All of which allow me to better and more fully serve my clients and continue to grow my practice.”

Mr. Weidlich’s clients trust and rely on him to protect their intellectual property rights and defend against any infringement claims of others. His approach provides his clients with effective strategies for obtaining successful outcomes for their intellectual property matters, said officials. Mr. Weidlich’s clients range from large multi-national companies to individual entrepreneurs.

Scott Parrish, Miller & Martin’s chairman, added, “The addition of Paul to our Intellectual Property Practice Group is another step in executing our plan for growth in this high demand practice area. Miller & Martin is fortunate to add someone like Paul at this stage in his career and we believe that his extensive experience and expertise will for years to come provide a platform for the high-quality service our clients expect.”

Mr. Weidlich is also very involved in the Chattanooga business community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Chattanooga International Business Council, and he is the chairman for the Early Innovator Award Committee of CHATech.

He was recognized as Best Lawyers in America, Chattanooga Patent Lawyer of the Year in 2021. Mr. Weidlich holds a law degree from The George Washington University Law School and an undergraduate degree from Lafayette College.

Mr. Weidlich joins Miller & Martin from Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C., where he has practiced law for more than 20 years and was the section chair of the Intellectual Property Group.
