Ralph Donald Ridgeway, 84, of Cleveland, passed away on April 19, 2022. He was born on June 23, 1937 to the late Walter Ralph Ridgeway and Inia Early Ridgeway. Ralph enjoyed fishing and working on cars and boats. He was a jack of all trades and very talented with his hands. One of his greatest accomplishments was being a HAM radio operator. He was known on the radio to many as “BT” and “Snake Eye.” Ralph was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his three brothers, Lemuel Ridgeway, Ronnie Ridgeway and Jimmy Ridgeway; and sister, Beatrice “B” Bates.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Gussie Ridgeway; daughter, Donna Allen and her husband, Tony and their children, Pvt. Austin Allen and Ashley Allen; sister-in-law, Helen Ridgeway; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 22 at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home, with visitation prior from 1-3 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Benton Memorial Gardens.
