Vista Recreation (formerly RRM) in a partnership agreement with TVA, announces the reopening of Skull Island Campground after years of closure due to deferred maintenance issues. Skull Island has undergone a complete facility renovation, and will have water and power utility connections for campers at all of the 68 campsites.

Other campground amenities include fully refurbished shower and bathroom facilities, and the addition of a stocked Camp Store, where visitors can purchase souvenirs and camping goods.

“After a nearly 5-year closure, campers have been at the gate asking about our reopening date for the past several months” said Leland Willis, Construction Services manager for Vista Recreation and the team leader for the renovation and expansion at Skull Island on Lake Chickamauga. The campground features a nearby boat launch ramp, a swim beach within the campground, as well as newly installed RV and tent site pads.

Skull Island Campground is partially opening Sunday and reservations are now available at https://reservations.camprrm.com.

During the partial opening, one restroom with two showers will be available for the 35 open sites. It will soon open to full capacity within the following weeks.

“We are delighted to once again be able to serve the local community with great lakefront camping facilities at Skull Island,” said Warren Meyer, president and CEO of Vista Recreation.

Vista Recreation is a nationwide leader in outdoor recreation facility management. The company offers a wide range of campground, cabin, and marina facilities.
