Sylvia Sue King
Sylvia Sue King

Sylvia Sue King, better known as “Mamaw” or “Mimi”, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2022.

Sylvia was a joyous person; always engaging in others lives, ministering the love of Christ to everyone around her, and was a true inspiration to so many. Her smile was contagious. If there was a mayor of Legacy Village it would be her. She was an extravagant giver and an encourager, a known prankster and joker, and a ruthless Rook player.  She would let you know that she was “fat and sassy and mean as ever”.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, R. Edwin King and her parents, Hoyle and Mildred Case.

Left behind to forever cherish her memory are her daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Jim Rigsby of North Richland, TX and Sandi and Rick Kramer of Stuart, FL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bud and Elaine Case of Visalia, CA and Jim and JoAnn Case of Cleveland; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jessica, Ryan, Lacey, Brandon, and King; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A Celebration of Sylvia’s Life will be held Wednesday May 25, at 2 p.m. at Westmore Church Of God with Reverend Kelvin Page officiating. Interment will follow to Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jonathan Rigsby, Brandon Perritte, King Kramer, Jamey Case, Jeremy Satterfield, and Jared Frazier serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes to conclude the service.

Her family will receive friends  from 12-2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

Sylvia’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Legacy Village of Cleveland for her amazing care over the years.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Sylvia’s memory to: The Providence Senior Living Benevolence Fund 2255 Candies Lane Cleveland TN 37312 or Westmore Church Of God Cuba Missions, Attention: Daniel Morales Rodriguez.

We invite you to send a message of condolence and view the King family guestbook at www.ralphbuckner.com.

Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
