Gaylon L. Rush, age 83, of Roslyn Lane, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022, in a Rome hospital.
A native of Trion, Ga., he was born to the late Otha and Thelma Rush, on April 26, 1939. Mr. Rush was a member of the Summerville First Baptist Church, a veteran of the U. S. Army, and was retired from commercial finance.
Surviving are daughters, Debra Koertge (Richard), Linda Barbagallo (Sal), and Barbara Schafer (Kurt); son, John Rush; sister, Marilyn Wood; grandchildren, Natalie Whigham, Laura Bargagallo, Ashley Fred, Christopher Koertge, Christian Schafer, and Grace Schafer; great-granddaughter, Olivia Whigham; niece, Susan Murdock (Todd); great-nieces, Graci Murdock and Chloe Murdock; and special friend, Norma Ables.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 26, at 1:30 p.m. from the Summerville First Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Mason and Dr. Sean Wegener officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 12-1:30 p.m. at the church.
