Carroll E. Queen, 82, of Hixson, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at her son’s home in Lafayette, Georgia.

She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area.  For many years she worked in the Textile industry and most recently she worked at the Food City in Hixson in the Deli Department.  Mrs. Queen enjoyed life.  She loved to shop and enjoyed a good meal at Cracker Barrel.  She was known for her cooking, especially her homemade biscuits.  She could often be found working in her yard, sweeping the driveway, picking up sticks, and she also enjoyed making floral arrangements.  She loved the holidays getting her family together for a big Thanksgiving meal and she would decorate her house for Christmas and it involved a lot of lights.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Queen; daughter, Catherine Queen; brother, Carl Grimes; and sister, Etna Grimes.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ruben and Tanya Queen; brother, Carl Fowler, Jr. (Barbara); four grandchildren, Kayla Queen, Addi Queen, Lexie Mann, and Amber Padgett; three great grandchildren, Branston Branham, Meadow Padgett, Briggs Queen; and several nieces and nephews.

Condolences may be shared and live webcasting will be available at www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3, at 10 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Jim Bennett officiating.

Interment will follow in the TN-GA Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
