Orange Grove Center Lunch for Champions will host Dan Earl, newly-named head coach for the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga Men’s Basketball team. Earl joins the Mocs following a seven-year run at Virginia Military Institute, where he was named the Southern Conference Coach of the Year for the 2020-21 season. Earl follows Lamont Paris as the head coach, who led the Mocs to a 2021-22 season record of 27-8, and 14-4 in SoCon play, to win the SoCon championship.
Orange Grove’s Lunch for Champions is an annual event that brings some of the biggest names in sports to Chattanooga to celebrate the history of Orange Grove as a place of hope and possibilities for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families. The event also features a video profile of a person supported by Orange Grove. This year’s Champion is Thomas Camp, who first joined the Orange Grove family in 1974. The event will be emceed by long time Orange Grove supporter and local attorney Jerry Summers.
This year’s Lunch for Champions is Wednesday, June 29 beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Bucky Williams Gymnasium on the Orange Grove campus at 615 Derby St.
