Jimmy Lee Nix ,age 61, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday, June 24, 2022 at his home. '

He was born March 31, 1961 in Varnell, Ga., a son of the late James Ernest Nix and Dorothy Burnett Truelove. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Otis Nix, and granddaughter, Stephanie  Brewster.


He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Baker Nix of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, James and Amanda Nix; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Chris Wheat; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Linda Nix, Grover and Carolyn Nix all of Dalton, GA, Denny and Brenda Nix of Eton, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Bonnie Ernestine Hollifield of Dalton, GA, Martha and Johnny Gravett of Fairmount, GA, Gladys Silvers of Dalton, GA; eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jimmy Lee Nix will be held Tuesday June 28, at 1 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Ronnie Nix officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Tyler Brewster, Brian Brewster, Brandon Nix, Logan Nix and Caleb Trammel serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Monday.  

Flowers will be accepted or donations be made to the family to help with expenses.
