Albert O. “Chick” Purser, 97, died on Friday, July 1, 2022, at his residence in Spring City.

He was born on March 29, 1925, to the late Nicholas Vance and Hazel Matherly Purser. Chick attended Rhea Central High School and was drafted during his junior year. He received his diploma after serving his  country during World War II in the United States Navy. Chick proudly served on the LSM 98. He served in the United States Navy from 1943-1946. Chick retired after 18 years from the Town of Lookout Mountain where he served as the Chief of Police and as a Firefighter.

He loved his family and spending time working in his garden and mowing his yard. Chick loved people and enjoyed talking to everyone. He was a member of the New Bethel United Methodist Church.
