Eddie Ayers
Eddie Lee Ayers, 89, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022, in a local hospital.
He opened and operated his own barber shop as a Master Barber for many years. Later in life, he also was employed as a Master Barber with Bear’s Barber Shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie and Walter Ayers; and brother, William Ayers.
Those left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Alma Ayers of Chattanooga; daughters, Sandra Long of Rossville, and Vickie (Marvin) Toney of Chattanooga; two grandchildren, Charles Young and Erica Ashley; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 nephew, William (Gloria) Ayers of Detroit, MI; and one niece, Elaine (Louis) Jackson of Detroit, MI.
Eddie will lie in state on Saturday, July 9, at 10 a.m. at Greater Community of Chattanooga Church of God in Christ.
Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with Pastor J. Anthony Taylor as the eulogist.
