Amigos Mexican Cocina Opens At St. Elmo

  • Friday, August 19, 2022

A new restaurant, Amigos Mexican Cocina St. Elmo, opened at 3812 St. Elmo Ave. on Monday. A.J. Antuna,  who owns this business, is a family member of the owner of other Amigos restaurants in the Chattanooga area. This restaurant will be operated independently from the others, however, but will have the same menu.

It is considered to be a family style restaurant, but Mr.

Antuna said customers have already asked for beer. Now beer sales will be available after the approval of a license at the Chattanooga Beer Board meeting on Thursday.

There are also plans to get a TABC license for selling liquor and wine.

Chattanooga Cigar Bar at 1518 Market St. has had a sole owner, Curtis Green. He has added Darian Scott as a partner, which required an application for a new beer permit. Mr. Scott told the board that the business will remain in the same location and nothing but the ownership will change. With no discussion, the business was given a new beer license with the names of both partners.
