Jamie Smith
What started as a small machine shop has grown in both size and capabilities to make Southeastern Tool & Design a leading provider of automated and engineered solutions. Earlier in 2022, the company expanded their operational footprint into a 100,000 square foot building to produce larger projects and builds. Now primed with all the resources to execute at the highest level, the company announces Jamie Smith as CEO, said officials.
In his almost 20-year tenure with VIAM, Mr. Smith spearheaded business development opportunities, including international M&A projects and factory expansions, and drove local and global sales that amassed 10 times growth. By developing long-term processes and systems, Mr. Smith ensured the company’s basic infrastructure was backed by operational excellence at every level.
“I want to grow our customer base and create a company culture where employees are excited to come to work – where the environment is cohesive and people feel rewarded, recognized, and stimulated," said Mr. Smith. "This starts with a well-connected leadership team where everyone has one goal they’re working toward, where people are working for each other and with each other.
“I’m excited to build on the strong foundation here and lead Southeastern Tool & Design into its next generation of growth. I believe in the company’s business model and its core strengths to be a preferred engineering solutions partner. I know that we’re going to excel by offering customers timely and cost effective solutions to their industrial challenges, whether in machining and fabrication, tooling and fixturing, or as a provider of turn-key automated solutions.”
Ben Brown, founder of parent company Alderman Enterprises, said, “The most important thing we can do for our companies is invest in great leadership, and Jamie is the embodiment of that. We look forward to the successful years ahead in the next chapter of Southeastern Tool & Design.”
