Sandra Jane Sedman LeVan of Hixson/Maryville, TN, better known to friends and family as Janie,  was born December 22, 1948 in Red Bank, TN to Frank and Marjorie Sedman. Janie returned home to be with the Lord on September 29, 2022 in Maryville, TN.

Sandra Janie graduated from Hixson High School. She worked early on as a beautician before moving on to the most challenging career as a stay at home Mom. Janie was married on Dec 27, 1969 and raised her three children who were her pride and joy. She also attended Community Baptist Church in East Ridge and leaves behind a legacy of Godliness, faithfulness and obedience and set the example of a wife and mother.   

All of her family and others have acclaimed her as the “kindest person they know”.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Marjorie Sedman and grandchild Alex Chappell.

Survivors include husband of 52 years, Michael (Mike) LeVan, daughter, Janna LeVan Chappell of Chattanooga, sons, James Michael (Yustina) LeVan and Adam Wesbrook (Angel) LeVan of Maryville, TN, grandchildren,  Matt, Zachary, Emma, Trey, Austin, Jolie, Seth and Caleb, great-grandchild Kirsten, and brother Jimmy (Blanche) Sedman.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Community Baptist Church in East Ridge, TN from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the church beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hamilton Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 4506 Hixson Pike Hixson, TN 37343. 423-531-3975.
