The Salvation Army’s Chattanooga Area Command will hold a food drive beginning Monday in support of its Life Navigation Ministry.
The mobile program allows The Salvation Army to meet people where they are and address their needs. Bins to collect the non-perishable items will be stationed at supporting Food City locations in the Chattanooga area.
The Life Navigation Ministry is supported by The Salvation Army’s outreach specialist, housing navigator and case manager. They use their mobile truck to deliver food, supplies and resources to those experiencing homelessness.
They offer case management, counseling and housing navigation as well as necessities like food, hygiene products, water, blankets, scarves and more.
In addition to the collection bins, people can buy items on The Salvation Army’s in-kind needs list online through Walmart, and the items will be shipped to Area Command. The link to the list is located on The Salvation Army website at

• Cans of Tuna
• Fruit cups
• Applesauce
• Granola bars
• Beef Jerky
• Slim Jims
• Trail Mix
