The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer announces five new members to its board of directors in 2023.
"These individuals bring decades of business management experience to the foundation’s growing leadership team, under the direction of the Austin Hatcher Foundation’s Co-Founders Amy Jo (president and CEO) and Jim (chairman of the board) Osborn," officials said.
The first new member is Dr. Justin Robertson, superintendent of Hamilton County Schools.
"I am honored to join the Austin Hatcher Foundation board as the foundation continues to provide support to families in our community,” Supt.
Robertson said. “My wife connected with the Osborns when the foundation was just getting started and I look forward to contributing a small amount to the mission of this important foundation."
The second new addition is Mr. Tom White. Mr. White, now retired, previously worked as the senior vice president of Investor Relations with the Unum Group.
“I am honored to be asked to be a part of the Austin Hatcher Foundation,” Mr. White said. “Cancer is such a cruel disease, more so when it affects children and their families. The Austin Hatcher Foundation provides invaluable services to these kids and their families with great love and compassion."
Dr. Ryan Voskuil is the third addition to the foundation’s board. Dr. Voskuil works as an orthopedic oncologist, bringing valued knowledge that will help the foundation grow in service.
“I am honored to join the board of directors for the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer,” said Dr. Voskuil. “This organization is leading the fight against the horrors of childhood cancer, and 2023 will be no exception as we press on.”
The fourth 2023 board member addition is Mrs. Meg Wingfield, track and field coach of Chattanooga Christian School.
“I am honored and humbled to come alongside the family and board of the Austin Hatcher Foundation,” said Mrs. Wingfield. “I tremendously admire this foundation’s intentional work to help families be seen, known and aided in all areas during the horrific journey of pediatric cancer. My gifts and support feel little against this seemingly insurmountable journey, but I look forward to helping in all ways possible.”
Lastly, the foundation welcomes Mr. Dax Branam, department chairman for Exceptional Education at Thrasher Elementary School.
“I’m excited to be part of the Austin Hatcher Foundation in 2023 for many reasons,” said Mr. Branam. “Mainly because I have seen first hand how AHF impacts our community, families and close friends. I’m excited to offer my contributions on the board and be an integral part of the continued success of this amazing organization.”
"The Austin Hatcher Foundation would also like to extend gratitude to the four outgoing board members, Clay Watson (2019-2022), Dr. Wanda Pipitanikal (2019-2022), Angie Burton (2019-22) and Christi Hissong (2012-2022), who have served as valued members of the board and provided their time, talents and expertise to the foundation," officials said.
