John Stanfield
John Wesley Stanfield, 74, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 19, surrounded by loving family members.
He was most of all a family man—a son, brother, loving husband and Dad, uncle, cousin, proud Pappaw. He was even "second Dad" to his little sister and a father figure to many of his daughters’ friends as they were growing up. He will be greatly missed.

Those he leaves behind include: his mother, Rosa Knox Blaylock; his wife, Joanne Sterchi Stanfield; daughter, Carla Smith; stepdaughters, Rachel Elliott (Phil), Jill Wilson (Travis), Virginia Sterchi and Sarah Sterchi Wade (Zach); brothers, David and Kevin, and sister, Karen Burrows and half-sisters Jeanne Farrow and Jo Ann Laymon; eleven grandchildren: Brannan Moncier; Avery Smith; Evan, Celia, and Will Elliott; Hannah Weaver; Tyler and Josie Wilson; Jackson and Norah Sterchi Wade and their baby sister, Hazel, “on the way.”
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. at the Coulter of Lane Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga Memorial Park.
