Retired From Brock Candy Company And Was A Phenomenal Cook

Ollie M. Johnson, 70, of Chattanooga, departed this life on November 8, 2023.

She attended Riverside School and worked for Brock Candy company before her retirement in 1999. She attended The Worlds Church of the Living God prior to her passing. Ollie was a phenomenal cook and loved planning gatherings to show off her cooking skills. She was known to cook for various events and gatherings of her friends and family. She loved crossword puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren and church friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Doss; father, Leroy Doss; husband of 41 years, Allen Johnson; sons, William “Tyrone” Doss, Frederick Ervin, and Alvin Johnson; sister, Beatrice Norwood.

Ollie is survived by her daughters, Sharon Ervin of Charlotte, NC, Ethel Ervin, Tanisha Johnson both of Chattanooga; sister, Vivian (Bruce) Jones of Chattanooga; step-daughter, Tawanda “Michelle” (Jesse) McDonald of Nashville, TN; stepson, Allen “Lamar” Johnson; best friend, Catherine (Tootie) Chappell; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends.

She will lie in state on Monday, Nov. 20, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at noon in the chapel. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
