From Grammy award-winning jazz and gospel producer Victor VC Caldwell, comes the gospel/jazz single "Can God Trust You?” Feb. 24. This is from his second solo project of the same name, coming later this year. The full-length project features Kirk Whalum, Kevin Whalum, Paul Jackson Jr., Ruby Camille, and Rod McGaha.
“As an artist I want my work to be a true reflection of who I am. I want it to be known that what I say is what I do and is who I am and how I live,” said Victor aka VC. The album says, “Can I be trusted as much as I trust in things like the dollar bill? Which is not almighty by the way. It says In God We Trust, but can God Trust Us?”
Grammy winning saxophonist and recording artist Kirk Whalum said, “Behind the scenes is usually where the enormous and unsung talent hides. Why? Because there’s lots of work to do back there and somebody’s gotta do it! But ask artists like me who shake our heads at the sheer genius back there in the shadows, and the name Victor Caldwell comes up constantly.”
