Billie Hill, 91, of Jasper, Tennessee, was born on May 14, 1932, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. It is her life in between that is to be celebrated.

Billie was born to Johnny Cline and Nana Kate (Belk) Cline, in South Pittsburg, Tn. She graduated from South Pittsburg High School where she went on to attend a school for office administration. While in school, Billie met Billy (Bill) Hill in their sophomore year and married prior to Bill leaving to serve in the Korean war. They were married for over 63 years.

In her long career Billie worked at Lodge Manufacturing for over 50 years working initially as an administrative assistant to the president of the company and from there she eventually worked as an advisor on the care of handling of cast iron.

Billie was a member of the United Methodist Church in South Pittsburg and a lifelong member of the Eastern Star of South Pittsburg and Jasper. She was a member of the Ladies of the Shrine during her husband’s journey through the Alhambra Shine where she, as a result of Bill being Potentate, became the First Lady.

She was also known as an avid poet and early in life had one or two poems published. Friends and family could always expect beautiful poems in the cards on every birthday, holiday, and special events.

Early in life Billie supported her children by being the designated driver for her family and their team members to all sporting events. She and Bill gave their time to be coaches in most all youth sports in South Pittsburg.

Billie loved to travel. She and Bill were fortunate to have travelled all over the country with the Shriners and as creators and coordinators of the Korean War Veterans group, TSRB765th.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy (Bill) Hill, mother, Nana Kate Belk Cline, and son, Kenneth Cline Hill.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Tim) Moore and grandson Connor Moore, grandson Jason (Stephanie) Hill and great-grandchildren Peyton and Jax, granddaughter, Alaya Hill and great-grandchildren: Mark William and Kenley Kate; eight nieces and nephews, Patty and Jan Hill, Linda (Joe) Harris, Johnny (Peggy) Roberts, Lee and Allen Roberts, Cindy and Holly Castle.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 27, at 11 a.m. CST in the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Moore officiating.

Ms. Billie will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, from 4-7 p.m. CST and on Saturday, May 27, from 10 a.m. CST prior to the service in the chapel.

Arrangements are entrusted to Rogers Funeral Home, 400 Laurel Avenue, South Pittsburg, Tn., 423 837-7176.
