Christopher “Chris” Wayne Sanders, 43, of Rossville went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2023, while surrounded by friends and family at Rob's Bar doing one of the things he loved most - playing pool.

He was born on Jan. 20, 1980, on Super Bowl Sunday in Chattanooga.

Christianity had been a very important piece of Christopher's life from a young age. He always took great joy in bringing people closer to God through using his own life stories to witness to anyone who would listen. Second only to The Lord, was his family. He has been a loving, patient husband for the last 10 years to a woman he truly loved and wanted to give the world to. He was a loving father and grandfather and was always willing to play or have a heart-to-heart. He enjoyed playing pool was a part of the American Pool players Association (APA) and had recently started playing in a master league. Christopher would often play video games online with his son, nephew, and brother. Their laughter and taunts could be heard through the house any given night. Even though he was a man with many hobbies, he was also a workaholic and had been loyal to Astec Industries for 16 years. Here, he made many friends and put in many hours to a company he loved.

Christopher leaves behind wife, Kristina Sanders; son, Seth Sanders; step-daughter, Lexi Newland and her fiancé Sean Ogle; granddaughters, Scarlette Edwards-Newland and Azabelle Ogle; father, Jefferson Sanders and step-mother, Patricia Sanders; mother, Gwendolyn Sanders; brothers, Jefferson Sanders and Logan Sanders; and step-sisters Rosa Mrosek and Ruthie Parrish; and nephew Nicholas Sanders in addition to many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and pets. He joins sister, Saralyn Sanders and nephew, Noah Sanders in heaven. Happily awaiting the rest of his family.

Please be on the lookout for benefits to help the surviving family at Brew and Cue and Rob's Bar.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 15, at 2 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
