About the recipients:
Lisa Witherow, BS - Frist Humanitarian Award, Employee Recipient
As the Parkridge East Hospital’s director of imaging and as a breast cancer survivor currently undergoing treatment, Lisa has special empathy and understanding for those patients who come to her for their own breast imaging studies.  Never shy to share her own experiences, Lisa continually gives back to her community and hospital by mentoring and educating women who may face similar health challenges.

Alison L. Bailey, MD - Frist Humanitarian Award, Physician Recipient
Known by many as a “doctor’s doctor,” Centennial Heart at Parkridge cardiologist Allison Bailey, MD, FACC, FASPC, has practiced medicine for over 18 years. Her passion for improving heart health for everyone is only matched by her energy in the pursuit of that goal. Not only does Dr. Bailey provide medical care to heart patients, but she is also just as emphatic about providing education to help prevent heart disease altogether. She is also highly respected in the Chattanooga community for her championing heart-health-positive programs like working with the YMCA to bring  heart-healthy cooking classes to the community. A true physician leader, Dr. Bailey embodies “Care Like Family” from her contributions and inspiration to patients and staff.

Shelley Green, RN: Excellence in Nursing Award, Compassionate Care Recipient
With over 20 years’ of experience, Shelley has been a Parkridge East Hospital Day Surgery nurse since 2012. Shelley exemplifies HCA’s “Care Like Family” philosophy in her patient/family interactions by making personal connections to ease anxieties by performing “small acts of kindness.”  Her gift of making meaningful connections with patients is routinely recognized by patient family members as well as her colleagues.

Allison Hampton, RN: Excellence in Nursing Award, Professional Mentoring Recipient
Allison “Alli” Hampton began her career as a nurse extern in 2016. She subsequently earned her RN license and quickly rose to the role of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) manager. In her role, Alli continually looks for internal career opportunities for staff and encourages them to grow professionally. She focuses on establishing professional relationships, mentoring and teaching resulting in several former members of her staff being promoted into leadership positions.

Kelly McAllister, RN LPN: Innovators Award Recipient
Kelly began her career as a mental health tech more than 15 years ago at Parkridge Valley Child and Adolescent Campus where she eventually rose in rank as an LPN, RN, and now as a Nurse Manager. Kelly took it upon herself to oversee the hospital’s admission service and process where she cross-trained staff, fostered relationships and greatly improved admission services and efficiency for both patients and staff.

"These caring and talented individuals will be considered for HCA Healthcare’s division-level awards," officials said.

The division-level winners are entered into the judging for the enterprise-level awards, which will be announced during a special ceremony at HCA Healthcare’s headquarters in Nashville on Oct. 10, 2023.
