Students from across the Lee University campus will come together Monday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Paul Dana Walker Arena to compete in Lee’s 30th annual Dorm Wars while raising money for local charities.

Dorm Wars will bring over 1000 students and guests to Walker Arena to witness fierce competition between various residence hall representatives. Lee’s Residential Life and Housing designs the event to test energy, skills, strategy, and speed in order to determine who will win.

“Dorm Wars has been an incredible event on Lee's campus for many years,” said Christy Cornelius, coordinator of Residential Life. “The activities are great, the entertainment is top notch, the fact that local charities benefit is incredible, but the most special thing about Dorm Wars is the way it brings our Lee community together.”

The competition will pit teams of residence hall representatives against one another in an obstacle course, a shopping cart race, and a mystery event, all while raising money for nonprofit organizations benefiting the local community. Lee staff members will be involved as officials and scorekeepers.

At the end of the night, residents from one traditional female dorm, one upperclassman female dorm, and one male dorm will walk away with the coveted title of “Dorm Wars Champion.”

This year, the winning residence hall’s community partner will benefit from the collective support of Dorm Wars fundraising. Residence hall partners include Backyard Ministries, The Boys & Girls Club, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Bradley County, Free2Fly, Got Her Covered, Isaiah 117 House, New Hope Pregnancy Care Center, The Salvation Army Cleveland Corps, Shepherd’s Heart International, and Willowbend Farms.

Dorm Wars admission is free and open to the public. The event will also be available for live stream viewing at leeu.live.

For more information or to get involved in fundraising, email Ms. Cornelius at ccornelius@leeuniversity.edu or Rocky Walker, chair of Dorm Wars and director of Residential Life and Housing, at rwalker@leeuniversity.edu.
