The last day for Zarzour's Cafe, which has been in the same family for 106 years, is Friday, Oct. 20.
Owner Joe "Dixie" Fuller recently sold the tiny building where the restaurant has long operated on Rossville Avenue as well as his home next door.
Mr. Fuller, who lost his wife Shannon last year, said it was "time" to move on to something else. Shannon Fuller was the mainstay at Zarzour's for many years.
She took over from Mr. Fuller's mother, Shirley Zarzour Fuller.
The new owner reportedly wants to keep the restaurant going.
However, the current staff, including longtime cook Mary Smith, is looking for a different location to launch their own restaurant.
Zarzour's features hamburgers, vegetables and cornbread and a daily main dish as well as home-made desserts.
It is open for lunch Monday-Friday - but not for much longer.
