Raphaël Feuillâtre
The Lee University Presidential Concert Series will continue with classical guitarist Raphaël Feuillâtre on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in Squires Recital Hall. Known as “the new face of classical guitar worldwide,” Feuillâtre fascinates audiences and critics alike with the depth of his interpretations, his dazzling virtuosity, and the richness of his repertoire.
The Tuesday evening performance will showcase masterpieces by renowned composers like J.S. Bach, Scarlatti, Albéniz, and Tarrega.
“Raphaël Feuillâtre is said to embody the spirit of innovation in classical guitar,” said Darlia Conn, director of Lee’s Presidential Concert Series. “His ability to connect with audiences through his artistry is truly remarkable, and we cannot wait for the community to experience his brilliance in person.”
Since his acclaimed debut at New York’s Carnegie Hall in 2023, Mr. Feuillâtre has performed in the world’s most prestigious concert halls and festivals, including Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, the Folle Journée in Nantes, and the Beethoven Haus in Bonn. He has also performed at major guitar events such as the Festival International de Guitare de Paris, the Festival Guitarras del Mundo in Argentina, and the Changsha International Guitar Festival in China.
In addition to winning first prize at the Guitar Foundation of America competition (GFA), Mr. Feuillâtre has forged a strong reputation in the classical guitar world by winning competitions such as Jose Tomas International Guitar Competition and Cuidad de Coria International Guitar Festival in Spain and the Viseu International Spring Music Festival in Portugal.
Mr. Feuillâtre teaches at the Pont Supérieur-Bretagne and is co-founder of the Lille Guitar Academy, a summer academy for guitarists. Students from all over the world receive his guidance at masterclasses given at the San Francisco Conservatory, the Manhattan School in New York, and the Haute École de Musique in Geneva. He is also involved in projects to raise awareness of the arts.

Squires Recital Hall is located in the Humanities Center on Lee’s campus. Designated parking will be available for the event.
