Deborah Tanner (Morgan)
Deborah Tanner (Morgan), 76, of Chattanooga went to be with her Lord and Savior very suddenly after having Thanksgiving with those she loved.
Debbie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unforgettable memories.
Born to the late William E. Clark and Faye Sawyer, Debbie was an only child who grew up surrounded by fun times, love, and warmth.
Known for her spunky spirit and generous heart, Debbie never met a stranger. She was a friend to everyone and a beacon of kindness in her community. Her culinary skills and hospitality were legendary, making every holiday special with her exquisite decorations and delicious food.
Debbie had a passion for travel and recently returned from a memorable trip to Alaska with her husband and many friends. She was an active member of the Elks Lodge #91 in Chattanooga and was a proud Alpha Delta Pi sorority sister at the University of Chattanooga.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a long-time member of Grace Episcopal Church. Debbie’s husband, Ron Tanner, preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2009. He was their Senior Warden.
Debbie’s vibrant personality, love for life, and dedication to her family and friends will be deeply missed. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Morgan; her beloved daughter, Lauren (Les) Conner. She was a cherished GiGi to Lillian Maclain Hixson, who is engaged to Adam Rivera; and her dear first cousin, Sherry Day, whom she talked with daily.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
