James "Jimmy" Allen Bolt, 76, passed away October 28, 2023.

Jim was a 1965 graduate of Kirkman Technical High School where he played running back and cornerback for the Golden Hawks football team. He joined the Army and was a decorated Bronze Star Vietnam veteran. Jim first and foremost loved his wife and his country, was a history buff, loved to write, loved music and slow dancing, loved watching deer and all of God's creatures in his backyard and especially loved his Tennessee Vols! He was in the pipefitting trade and specialized in air conditioning/refrigeration and was a retired chiller operator at downtown TVA.

A son of the late James and Mary Lee Bolt he was born on July 10, 1947 in Chattanooga. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters JoAnn Goins and Sandra Freeman and a daughter Melissa (Lisa) Bolt.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Kathryn A. Bolt, son and daughter-in-law Chris and Alli Bolt and a daughter, Pamela Bolt; four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Jim will be laid to rest at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on March 22, at 1 p.m.
