UTC Golf Drops To 24th After Day Two At The Prestige

The 24th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs had a rocky run of it on day two of the Prestige. The PGA West Norman Course held the quintet to 299, dropping to 24th with a 590 total.

John Houk paced the group with a 1-over 72 for the second 18. Braedon Wear was next with 75 as Paul Conroy and Ward Harris rounded out the counters with 76s. Samuel Espinosa’s 77 was the drop tally.

Houk is at level-par 142 with 18 holes to go. Wear is three behind him with 145 and Conroy another three behind at 148. Espinosa and Harris have matching 156s.

19th-ranked Texas Tech (544) holds a 10-shot lead over Kansas (554). No. 25 Duke (557) is another three back in third. The Jayhawks; Cecil Belisle is the individual leader at 9 under.

The tournament is back in action at 9:45 a.m., Eastern Time, Wednesday. The Mocs tee off No. 10 starting at 2 p.m. Espinosa is off first with Harris, Conroy, Wear and Houk right behind at 11-minute increments. The Mocs are playing with San Francisco and host UC Davis.
