Rodizio Grill Downtown Chattanooga Announces New Ownership

  • Wednesday, February 21, 2024

Rodizio Grill of Downtown Chattanooga is now under new ownership. Brothers, Leandro De Paula and Renan Utrera, are the primary owners, both of whom are Brazilian and have worked and operated other Rodizio Grill locations for the past five years.

Leandro De Paula and Renan Utrera are related to Rodizio Grill’s Founder, Ivan Utrera. “When my uncle founded Rodizio Grill, he envisioned a place filled with Brazilian tradition – a showcase of the sights, sounds and delicious fare from our homeland. A place that would give guests an authentic Brazilian dining experience that couldn’t be found anywhere else here in the United States,” said De Paula. “For nearly 30 years, Rodizio Grill has become known across the country for our playful Brazilian spirit, authentic menu offerings and family-friendly atmosphere. It is our goal to bring the Brazilian spirit, unsurpassed levels of service and the highest quality of food – exactly what you would enjoy at a churrascaria in Southern Brazil.”

Renan Utrera has a passion for this traditional Brazilian dining experience as he, alongside De Paula, was born and raised in Brazil. “Many of my fond childhood memories took place at our local churrascaria – whether it was celebrating birthdays or just spending quality time with my family and friends. Rodizio Grill is truly the embodiment of these memories – the traditional fare, the experience with the Gauchos and the fun atmosphere. I am thrilled to be representing Brazil here in Downtown Chattanooga and am excited to share my passion for our culture and our signature Rodizio Grill experience with Chattanooga.” Renan Utrera brings 16 years of experience in restaurant management, 10 of which spent with Rodizio Grill.

Established in 1995, Rodizio Grill was the first Brazilian churrascaria steakhouse in the United States. Nearly 30 years later, the brand remains known for its unique concept which features rotisserie-grilled meat, seasoned and carved tableside by traditionally dressed Gauchos. While the meats are the main attraction, they are complemented with an award-winning gourmet salad bar, marked by original salads, fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, and authentic hot side dishes. Rodizio Grill also boasts an unparalleled selection of real, fresh-pressed juices, homemade Brazilian Limeades, signature cocktails and an extensive wine list featuring a variety of Brazilian imported wines. At the end of the meal, guests can enjoy a selection of exclusive, homemade desserts authentic to the entire experience.

And just as a commitment to authentic food is important, so is a commitment to the significance of family in Brazilian culture. Because of this, Rodizio Grill offers discounted pricing for children and special promotions for family celebrations. Brazilians love to celebrate milestones, which is why Rodizio Grill offers free birthday meals to its Club Rodizio subscribers.

Rodizio Grill of Downtown Chattanooga is at 439 Broad St., inside Holiday Inn & Suites. There is a second Rodizio Grill location in Chattanooga, at Hamilton Place, owned by local restauranteurs, Carlos and Eunice Kal.
