The Chattanooga Mocs men’s and women’s tennis teams are set to host a Saturday outdoor doubleheader at the UTC Tennis Center on campus this weekend with the men’s team hosting Presbyterian and the women’s squad welcoming Tennessee Wesleyan.
First serve for the men’s match against PC is set for 11 a.m. ET while the women’s match will follow at 3 p.m. ET. The men will also play on Sunday with a road contest at Jacksonville State with a 2 p.m. ET start.
Chattanooga (4-6) has won two of its last three matches including a 7-0 shutout over UT Southern at home on Tuesday afternoon. Jakub Jupa carries a four-match singles winning streak into the weekend with three of the four coming at No. 2 and the other at the top position.
UTC is 3-4 all-time against Presbyterian (4-3) with defeats in each of the last three meetings. The Mocs carry a 26-15 all-time record against Jacksonville State (5-4) but have dropped five of the last six matches dating back to 2014.
The Chattanooga women (4-6) enters the Saturday match looking to snap a three-match skid with two of the three defeats coming by a tight 4-3 margin. UTC has been led by No. 1 singles player Rozalie Dohnalova who has amassed a 7-3 record at the top slot in the season’s first ten matches.
The Mocs are 5-0 all-time against NAIA-member Tennessee Wesleyan (5-2) with all five matches in the series occurring in Chattanooga. TWU heads into the weekend riding a four-match winning streak with a combined team scoring margin of 27-1 over the four matches.
